HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM OFFICIALLY LAUNCH WOMEN’S APPAREL COMPANY-PRODUCTS MADE IN NEW ENGLAND

Silvermine, LTD. Products Will Be Sold Online At www.silvermineltd.com

NEW CANAAN, CT (August 15, 2005)-Gail and Ron Halvorsen announced today the launch of their company, Silvermine, LTD. Silvermine is a woman’s apparel company featuring a line of sports jackets, called “Claim Jackets,” and a collection of jewelry or “Claims.” The Claim Jacket, Silvermine’s signature garment, is a classic khaki, cotton twill women’s sports jacket with a stylish, designer cut, retailing for $139. Silvermine’s accessory line of Claims comes in a wide selection of whimsical shapes and are made of Swarovski crystal, Limoge, or Sterling Silver. The Claims, priced from $20 to $80, are designed to be worn on the front breast pocket or lapel of the Claim Jacket and are symbolic of the woman’s interests and passions. Silvermine’s products are available by phone (203-966-8284) and through the company’s web site, www.silvermineltd.com.

“ I’ve been working in fashion retailing and textiles for over 25 years,” said Founder and President Gail Halvorsen. “Due to industry changes, most of the garment and jewelry manufacturing is done in the Far East, which makes it difficult to find good resources in America, let alone in New England. But, through a combination of market research, networking and good luck, we’ve assembled a top-notch team.”

Silvermine’s Claim Jacket is designed and manufactured in New England. The company’s pattern maker, with thirty years of experience designing woman’s jackets, is conveniently based in Fairfield County Connecticut. Silvermine manufactures its collection in New Bedford, Massachusetts at one of the only fully-operating garment factories in the area. Most of the Claims are manufactured in the once-famous “Jewelry District” in Providence, Rhode Island.

“ With Gail’s prior experience with her own fashion design company, GSH Designs, LLC, and my entrepreneurial and ministerial background, we’ve teamed up to design, manufacture, and market a concept that combines woman’s clothing with storytelling,” said Silvermine Founder and CEO Ron Halvorsen. “Silvermine offers our customers a way to connect with others and express symbolic meaning and identity through stylish clothing and accessories.”
